Working with Phoenix Benham of Distorted Rebels is a collaboration from the start of the process. The freedom to be an artist is truly respected, you are gifted the reigns to your own character and allowed a space to create on which there feels like there are very few boundaries, only your imagination.
The team in which Phoenix surrounds herself with are truly incredible people from Mira, Siobhan, Lisa, Nural and many more, I believe Phoenix understands the demands on actors especially in show week and has crafted a team to help with that, they are all helpful, kind and caring souls. Phoenix play many roles within the company and one of them is casting, and in this there were no faults, all of us cast bonded like family and I met friends that I will have for life.

Working with Phoenix as a playwright, director and actor was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. She was great at assisting with the characters and relationship development, wouldn’t shy away from any questions and made an open, collaborative safe space to work in.
Although the subject of the play was very heavy, she managed to keep the atmosphere in the rehearsal rooms very light. 

It was a pleasure to work with her and I can’t wait to do it again.

Working with Distorted Rebels Productions was an incredibly rewarding experience. Phoenix Benham, our director and writer, created such a supportive and open space that allowed everyone to experiment and deeply make the work their own. She was generous with her time and feedback, always encouraging us to explore different ideas and take creative risks. That level of trust and collaboration made the process feel very inspiring. It was a genuinely positive experience that reminded me why I love working in this industry. Overall, it was amazing to feel as if everyone in the cast were like a big family, and could be truly comfortable with and supported by.

Working with Distorted Rebels has been a great experience. They are a fantastic team and made me feel truly welcomed. Phoenix is a joy to work with, clear in communication, approachable, and very organized. The entire team is also incredibly supportive, especially during tech setups,  ensuring everything runs smoothly. Working with Distorted Rebels was nothing short of a refreshing and phenomenal experience. It's inspiring to witness such true collaboration on a film like this. Everyone on the production team was encouraged to contribute their own creative input, making it a collective masterpiece infused with individual artistry.

What Phoenix accomplished with *The Surrogate* is truly extraordinary. The story, while shocking, was incredibly fun and creative to work on. As the DoP, Phoenix granted me complete creative freedom with the visuals, which was both empowering and exhilarating. This openness extended to the actors and actresses as well, allowing everyone to pour their full passion into the project.

Mira, a brilliant 1st AD and a "small pocket ninja," was exceptional in her role. Her time management skills are absolutely spot-on, yet she understands the importance of taking one or two additional takes when necessary to achieve the best possible outcome. Her balance of efficiency and perfectionism greatly enhanced the quality of the production.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with both Phoenix and Mira. I eagerly anticipate our next adventure together as part of this wonderful team. Collaborating with Distorted Rebels has reaffirmed my love for filmmaking and the magic that happens when creative minds unite.

I offered my services as videographer for Distorted Rebels for the “You Won’t Help me” performance at the Network Theatre to help them to spread awareness about domestic violence and abuse. 

The guys were so nice and accomodating, they treated me as one of the team even if we we just met. They worked out with me the best way to feel comfortable to record their performance and they offered me refreshments.

The performance was great, so intense and so powerful that keep you focused from beginning to end. 

The team is so nice and friendly and also very professional. I would recommend to work with them!

I absolutely love working with Phoenix. She listens to other people’s ideas and doesn’t talk over or discount them.

Every rehearsal was a pleasure.

During show week (when you’d expect her to be a little stressed) there was no change to her.

Working with Distorted Rebels has been such an amazing experience for me. As someone relatively new to the industry, I’ve found it hard in the past to speak up for myself on sets and show my best self. 

Phoenix has helped me grow into a better, more confident person due to her compassion and dedication to her productions and team. Every person she hires is incredibly talented and thoughtful. Each shooting day was filled with laughter and positivity between takes and this just shows how comfortable we all were with her leading us.   

Mira’s professionalism and dedication to Distorted Rebels must also be mentioned, in such a male dominated industry these two women shine so bright and are truly an inspiration. There isn’t a company I’d rather work for!
