She is warm, loving, and about to marry the man she has built her life around. With their closest friends gathering at a stunning cabin retreat to celebrate their upcoming wedding, everything looks perfect.
But perfection, as Sarah knows all too well, can be a cage.
You Won’t Help Me is a visceral, unflinching short film about coercive control — about the violence that lives behind closed doors, the smiles that mask it, and the devastating silence of someone too afraid to ask for help. Set against the backdrop of what should be the happiest week of Sarah’s life, the film pulls you into the suffocating reality of a woman trapped in plain sight, surrounded by the people who love her most, and yet utterly, terrifyingly alone.
As old friendships are tested, loyalties are fractured, and long-buried truths begin to claw their way to the surface, the question that haunts every scene is not whether something is wrong — it is whether anyone will see it in time.
This is not a comfortable watch. It was never meant to be. You Won’t Help Me demands that its audience sit with the discomfort of recognition — of a dynamic that is devastatingly common, meticulously hidden, and far too rarely named until it is almost too late.
